You have to go through a Barium X-ray for finding out the abnormalities or blockages. While doing this examination, you have to look at the x-ray image to see how the esophagus functions.

Endoscopy can also be used to examine all areas the Dentist will insert a very thin flexible tube with a camera attachment down into your esophagus. Manometry used to check the inside of your throat. During this test, the Doctor will check the pressure of the muscles in your throat when you swallow by inserting a tube into your esophagus to measure the pressure in your muscles when they contract. This Problem can occur when a person avoids eating, skip meals, or lose their appetite.

Children who face swallowing might be due to refusing to eat a certain type of food, having food or liquid leaking from their mouth, regurgitate during meals, have trouble breathing when eating and lose weight without trying. You have to consult your Dentist timely to get rid of this problem if left untreated, it might become severe and then you may be admitted to the hospital and given food through a feeding tube.
